The AVP, Dealer Development and Learning leads a diverse team in the attraction, selection and development of new retail operators and the on-going design, development and delivery of programs, tools and resources (including the supporting technology of the organizations “University”) to assist retail operations (i.e. franchisees, dealers) to develop and retain their teams. The role will also set the direction for and identify the programs, tools and resources that will assist the retail operators with their organizational development and HR strategies including leadership development, retail management development, customer service/store experience excellence, etc. Reporting to an SVP, the role leads six direct reports, with a total team of 45 in recruiting, training, instructional design, etc.

Compensation: The compensation will consist of a competitive base salary plus a bonus, a car allowance and a fully comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience level and background.
Accountabilities:
Develop a defined strategy to meet the needs of the operations teams to ensure business goals are attained
Interface with operations group to get stakeholder alignment on the strategy, establishing unified plans and processes
Implement and institutionalize strategic direction which delivers demonstrated value
Ensure learning modules are effective to drive high uptake by retail teams
Drive success of retail operations in all areas including enhanced customer experience through an improved, cohesive and effective learning and development process
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7-10 years in a leadership role including proven knowledge of retail operations. Exposure to franchise and/or a dealer model will be an asset.
- A university degree combined with solid business acumen and proven success in developing and implementing strategies which demonstrate added value.
- Experience in planning, developing and implementing large-scale programs, setting direction for the team, communicating the vision and implementing sound strategies in-line with business goals and objectives.
- Change management experience including proven success at influencing and supporting multiple stakeholders, gaining alignment from teams with varied objectives, and influencing without authority.
- Prior work experience in HR, leadership development, organization development and e-learning is desirable. Exposure to and knowledge of enterprise learning management systems and adult learning is desirable.
- Ability to manage complex budget administration.
- History of success in a complex, multi-business unit organization, and proven ability to work cross-functionally.
- Positive, proactive work-style, proven leadership skills and results-focused.
- Influential, with strong judgment and ability to make sound decisions in leading a team of people leaders.
- Proven success in developing and maintaining consultative relationships with business partners at all levels of an organization.
